Agency code: BFTB
Incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in
New York in 1995, we started out transcribing utility bills for large utility
companies.
With additional experienced staffing and
equipment our policy now is to accept a maximum of 30,000 ink pages annually,
which is about 83 textbooks.
Our Braille pages always have the corresponding
ink print.
The only way we can give you a price on new work
is for you to mail the book to us. Before cutting the spine from the book for
scanning, we will tell you the price. We will begin the work only after you
approve the price and tell us to proceed with the order.
Our large print comes in a print size from 18 to 22 points. We also offer different colored paper - white, cream, lilac, and blue. One visually impaired person told us that print on the lilac paper was easier for him to see. Most people, however, prefer the cream color. White is usually the second choice. If you need to see samples, please call or e-mail us.
If your monitor's resolution is 1024 X 768
pixels, then
this print is about 22 point, Arial font. It does not show the actual
word and letter spacing, which is considerably more than normal. The
majority of our customers chose this size. (For your information, a point is
1/72 of an inch. 18 points equals 18/72 or 1/4 inch and 72 points equals 1
inch.)
